Devlog 1 - The Idea

This project began originally as a Christmas village my brother made for Christmas in 2019. One day he left a giant Santa on the village and we got the idea for a wintertime story about a village who's under control from an evil cousin of Santa Claus. From there the project was born and we shared the first draft of the story on Twitter as a thread. It became a labor of love as we considered different paths in the story and were pleasantly surprised with the interest it garnered on Twitter.

2020 brought along many difficulties but it also provided us the opportunity to hone our skills as we spent much of our time together at home. We began working on adapting the story to a 2D side scroller as well as went back to revise the story. Early this winter we announced that it would be released as  a game this winter, with part two of the story already in the story development process.

Recently our team grew by one more as the cover artist and promotional artist, Renzon. While we know the wintertime is now ending, we wanted to release this game before winter ended officially as we like to joke that Comandante Claus will be the last game released of this winter.  This is a labor of love that we've contributed to on and off for the past 14 months so it has gone through quite a bit of changes but now that we're at the final testing phase, we'd like to share updates about what you can expect in your attempt to save the town of Silver Pines from the evil Comandante Claus!
